Help Drew Primary School make music … and memories

DREW School in Silvertown are working on an exciting new project – and are creating a music video…and they want help from local people who live or who have lived in the area.
Drew headteacher Dulcie Sharp explained what it is all about in  a message to parents yesterday.
Said Dulcie: “The project is being run by our fabulous music teacher Katie Collier.
We would love to hear from anyone who can help and would like to be involved.”
In her message to parents she said: “This year we have decided to create a music video.
* Some of the pupils on board the Glenorchy – a ship adopted by the school – back in the 50s or 60s
“We have written our own song and are in the process of collecting information about our school and community.
“We are reaching out to you to ask if you have any stories, photos or Drew school memorabilia to share.
“Were you a pupil in this school many years ago? Do you have any stories about the local area you’d like to share?
The music video will include photos and videos of the school in the past and present, along with snapshots of our local area. Tate & Lyle, Royal Docks,London City Airport and the like.
Added Dulcie: “We will also be recording an extra ‘the making of’ segment which will show interviews of your stories.
“If you would like to share photos/stories and/or be part of the music video, please email the school on:
info@drew.lihtrust.uk,
for the attention of Miss Collier, and we will be in touch to discuss further.”
As a former pupil I think it’s a great idea.
